How to Set Up a Notion Chore Chart That Shows What Is Due

Give every job a frequency and a Last done date. Turn the frequency into a number of days, add it to Last done to get Next due, and compare Next due with today to label each job Overdue, Due today, This week or Later. A Today view then shows only what is overdue or due today, grouped by room, and a Done today button resets the clock.

The fields each job needs

The four formulas

  1. Every (days): Daily 1, Every 2-3 days 3, Weekly 7, Fortnightly 14, Monthly 30, Quarterly 91, Twice a year 182, Yearly 365.
  2. Next due: Last done plus Every (days). With no Last done, it is due today.
  3. Days until due: the days between today and Next due.
  4. Status: below 0 is Overdue, 0 is Due today, up to 7 is This week, anything later is Later.

Questions

What if I miss a week?
Overdue jobs show at the top of Today. Do the minimum version, press Done today, and the schedule moves forward from there.
Can each person see their own jobs?
Yes, with a view grouped by Owner. Share the page with your household in Notion.
Is 30 days right for monthly jobs?
It is a simple, predictable choice. Change the number in Every (days) if you prefer another.
